Our Mission, Our Founders
Biotechnology industry is broad and includes biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies as well as medical device, diagnostic, vaccine, or generics companies, contract research organizations, health research institutes, and related organizations—involved in the discovery, research, development, and commercialization of innovative medicines, devices, and other healthcare products.
Our Founders
Dr Steve Wisseh, BIOCIS Senior Fellow
- 2000. Doctorate in Biostatistics, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- Decades of experience spanning Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, Novartis in New Jersey and India, and what are now GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi-Aventis and Gilead Sciences, among others
- 2008 in Massachusetts. Co-founded non-profit BIOCIS (Biotechnology Center for International Service Ltd.)
- 2005 and 2006 in India. Developed a biostatistics group for international service
- 2005 in North Carolina. Presented Good Medicine and the Role of the Minority Biostatistician
- 2003 in New Jersey. Presented Drug Development and the Role of the Biostatistician
- 2003 in the Bahamas. Presented Good Medicine and the Role of the Biostatistician
- 2003 in New Jersey. Co-founded a non-profit biostatistics academy for underrepresented minorities
